About
SUMMARY

Hello, my name is Onur Olmez.
I’m a first-generation Turkish-American based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been traveling—mainly to Turkey to visit family. Those early trips sparked a deep curiosity about the world and how people live in it. Being bilingual in English and Turkish helped me move between cultures with ease and shaped how I see and interact with the world around me.
That same curiosity—and a meticulous attention to detail—has shaped both my career and creative work. I manage the IT Services division of a heavy civil contractor focused on public transit infrastructure. Outside of that structured, high-pressure environment, I turn to design, photography, and travel to reset. These pursuits help me slow down, stay grounded, and reconnect with the parts of life that don’t run on dashboards or deadlines. With each trip, I try to outdo the last—seeking sharper perspectives, quieter moments, and stories that stay with me.
This site was built from the ground up, with every detail and layout thoughtfully crafted by hand. These photos are more than just records of where I’ve been—they reflect a drive to go deeper, to stay curious, and to see the world with intention. Aside from my Istanbul 2012 trip, every photo here was taken on an iPhone. I choose to shoot this way, embracing the restraint and relying on instinct and composition over gear. What started with those early family trips has become a lifelong pursuit, and the curiosity behind it burns brighter than ever.
Enjoy the journey—
